With the theme “Green Future: Youth for Sustainability” the “English Speaking Contest - TDU 2026” organized by Thanh Do University created an academic platform that promoted global integration, where students demonstrated not only English proficiency but also critical thinking, social responsibility and perspectives on sustainable development issues.

As higher education increasingly moves toward international integration, foreign languages are becoming more than communication tools; they are now essential competencies that enable students to access global knowledge, improve competitiveness and engage more deeply in international issues. In this spirit, the contest was designed as a practical academic activity contributing to a dynamic, modern and comprehensive learning environment for students at Thanh Do University.

By choosing the theme “Green Future: Youth for Sustainability” the competition encouraged students to explore global concerns such as sustainability, environmental protection, community responsibility and the role of young people in building a greener future. These topics also reflect current priorities in global education strategies and workforce development for the modern era.

A Dynamic Academic Playground for Global Citizens 

The final round featured diverse activities combining knowledge, skills and language application in academic settings. Teams competed in self-introduction and talent performances, quick-response English knowledge challenges and presentation and debate sessions with the judging panel.

Through these challenges, students demonstrated flexible English communication skills, logical thinking, teamwork, problem-solving abilities and stage confidence. Creative presentations and multidimensional perspectives on education, culture, environment and sustainability created an inspiring and vibrant academic atmosphere.

In particular, the presentation and debate sessions highlighted students’ analytical thinking, argumentation and ability to express viewpoints confidently in English. These are increasingly important skills for young people in international learning and working environments where communication, critical thinking and adaptability are highly valued.

The competition was accompanied by a panel of experts, lecturers and education managers specializing in language and international education. Their professional feedback and practical insights helped contestants improve their skills while offering broader perspectives on foreign language learning in an era of global integration.

More than an academic competition, “English Speaking Contest - TDU 2026” also reflected Thanh Do University’s educational orientation toward building an open, experience-based learning environment that nurtures global citizenship competencies. By integrating foreign language learning, soft skills and real-world social issues, the contest created opportunities for students to express ideas, develop critical thinking and strengthen international integration capabilities.
