With a commitment to expanding its global partnership network and creating more international opportunities for students, Thanh Do University welcomed a delegation from Shandong Vocational College of Commerce (China) on June 16 to discuss potential collaboration in education, research, and international exchange.

Shandong Vocational College of Commerce currently partners with around 40 international institutions, with more than 30 active collaborations in academic programs, research, faculty and student exchanges, and cultural engagement. The institution also hosts a variety of international short-term programs for students from around the world.

Building on the strengths of both universities, the meeting explored practical cooperation initiatives that would benefit students and faculty while advancing the internationalization of higher education.

A key focus was the development of student and faculty exchange programs, including short-term study courses, international summer schools, academic exchanges, cultural immersion, and industry internships. These initiatives will provide Thanh Do University students with valuable international learning experiences, stronger language skills, and greater global awareness.

Representatives of Thanh Do University and Shandong Vocational College of Commerce discussed future collaboration in education, research, and international exchange.

The two institutions also identified information technology, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence (AI) as strategic areas for cooperation. Joint academic activities, technology competitions, and collaborative research projects are expected to create new opportunities for student development.

Another important topic was the possibility of introducing a 3+2 international articulation program, offering students a flexible pathway to study in an international academic environment while meeting the growing demand for highly skilled graduates.

Recognizing the increasing need for Chinese-speaking professionals, both universities also discussed cooperation in Chinese language education, industry-linked training, internships, and employment opportunities aligned with labor market demands.

The meeting further highlighted opportunities for joint research, academic conferences, bilingual Vietnamese–Chinese teaching materials, and the development of application-oriented academic programs to enhance educational quality at both institutions

The meeting opened new prospects for student and faculty exchanges, short-term study programs, and international articulation between the two universities

The two universities agreed to continue discussions toward signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), laying the foundation for long-term collaboration in education, research, international exchange, and talent development, while creating more global learning and career opportunities for Thanh Do University students.
