CULTURAL EXPERIENCE FOR CHINESE LANGUAGE STUDENTS AT THE 2025 CULTURE TOURISM AND SCIENCE WEEK - GUANGXI, CHINA

Within the framework of the 2025 Guangxi Culture Tourism and Science Week, Chinese Language students of Thanh Do University took part in a series of distinctive cultural exchange and experiential activities in a space rich in the cultural identity of Guangxi, China.

The event offered a strong combination of academic value and hands-on experience, featuring cultural performances, traditional cuisine tasting, calligraphy practice, woodblock printing, brocade weaving, and visits to thematic exhibitions, including the exhibition President Ho Chi Minh and Guangxi. Through these activities, students had the opportunity to explore the cultural characteristics of China through the lens of the Guangxi region.

A vibrant cultural panorama was recreated through experiential activities and specialized exhibitions, allowing students to engage directly with traditional arts and intangible cultural heritage that reflect the long-standing history and identity of Guangxi. These experiences deepened students’ understanding of regional culture while enhancing their appreciation of cultural diversity.
A notable highlight of the program was the exhibition President Ho Chi Minh and Guangxi, which provided valuable insights into President Ho Chi Minh’s time living, studying, and working in Guangxi. The exhibition helped students gain a deeper understanding of the historical foundation of Vietnam-China relations and fostered respect for traditional friendship and intercultural understanding.

Beyond its cultural significance, the program created a practical communication environment for Chinese Language students to practice language skills, build confidence, and develop deeper linguistic awareness through real-world interaction. Such experiential learning plays an important role in expanding cultural and historical knowledge, strengthening intercultural communication competence, and supporting students’ international integration and personal development.

Through these hands-on activities, students had the opportunity to broaden their understanding of Chinese culture and history, practice language skills in real-life contexts, and strengthen intercultural communication competence. The program also enabled Thanh Do University students to enhance international connections, expand their global outlook, and develop essential soft skills for study and integration in an increasingly globalized environment.
