As part of the course on site Tour Guiding Practice, students of the English Language major (Tourism orientation) at Thanh Do University took part in a two-day field trip in Thai Nguyen Province.

Learning Integrated with Real Tour Routes

The practical journey started from Thanh Do University and brought students to key destinations in Thai Nguyen, such as Phu Lien Pagoda, Tan Cuong Tea Hills, Thai Hai Cultural Village, and Phoenix Cave. These sites were selected for their cultural, historical, ecological, and community-based tourism values, aligning well with professional tour guide training objectives.

Throughout the trip, students directly performed professional tasks including designing guiding scripts, leading tour groups, organizing itineraries, and handling on-route situations. This hands-on experience allowed students to closely engage with the real working environment of the tourism industry, strengthening both knowledge and practical skills.

Unlocking Global Citizenship Potential Through Experience

Beyond professional skill development, the field trip helped nurture students’ career passion, professional mindset, and confidence. Through real-world experience, students assessed their own capabilities and clarified career pathways in the increasingly globalized tourism and service sectors.

This activity also contributes to developing global citizens, learners equipped with adaptability, initiative, and readiness to integrate into diverse international working environments.

Training Orientation under the ICON Philosophy and WILL Model

The on-site tour-guiding practice clearly reflects Thanh Do University’s educational orientation, grounded in the ICON philosophy (Intelligence – Capability – Harmony – Humanity) and the WILL model (Work-Integrated Learning and Living).

Students learn through real experiences (Learning) while simultaneously developing life skills, professional ethics, and community engagement (Living). Transforming academic knowledge into practical competence helps students build professional resilience and readiness for the labor market in a global context.

Through experiential learning activities like this Thai Nguyen field trip, Thanh Do University continues to affirm its commitment to training high-quality, confident, and globally integrated human resources while accompanying students on their journey toward sustainable career development.
