An in-depth training session for faculty under the theme: “Teaching and Designing Lessons with AI: Empowering Educators in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.” - July 5th, 2025
Part of the university’s strategic plan to stay updated with technological trends and enhance educational quality, the workshop provided faculty with an opportunity to explore, experience, and practice the latest tools and techniques in generative AI, teaching assistants, and the potential of AI in modern higher education.
The session emphasized the critical role of AI in transforming education and the university’s strategic vision of empowering educators to lead students in a rapidly changing, technology-driven world.
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Khanh - University of Oulu and his colleague delivered a comprehensive overview of AI in higher education, highlighting the opportunities to personalize lessons, implement smart assessments, automate administrative tasks, and expand learning spaces.
The training workshop also included hands-on practice in AI prompt engineering and designing personalized AI teaching assistants. Faculty learned how to interact effectively with AI tools, create lesson outlines, develop questions, and build class scenarios. Participants worked directly on their computers, supported by the instruction team, to practice creating prompts, building AI assistants, and refining these tools for their specific subjects and student groups.
The university is confident that workshops like this will continue to “empower” faculty, who play a pivotal role in inspiring and shaping the educational journey of future generations in the AI era.
