ANNOUNCEMENT OF ADMISSION TO THE MASTER’S PROGRAM IN COMPARATIVE - CONTRASTIVE LINGUISTICS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS (FIRST INTAKE - 2026)

Thanh Do University has achieved the QS Stars 4-Star international education quality rating and meets the Vietnamese National Education Quality Standards.

The University hereby announces the admission to the Master’s Program in Comparative - Contrastive Linguistics for international students for the first intake of 2026 as follows:

1. Program Overview

  • Field of Study: Comparative and Contrastive Linguistics
  • Program duration: 1.5 years (18 months)
  • Mode of study: Full-time
  • Language of instruction: Vietnamese
  • Graduation requirement: Successful defense of a Master’s thesis in Vietnamese or an approved foreign language.

2. Eligibility and Admission Quota

  • Eligible Applicants: Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a discipline relevant to Comparative and Contrastive Linguistics.
  • Admission quota (tentative): 05 students

2.1 Selection Method: Admission is based on a comprehensive review of the applicant's Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) from their undergraduate degree.

2.2 Supplementary Courses: Applicants whose undergraduate majors are not directly aligned with the program may be required to take supplementary courses. (Appendix I)

2.3 Admission Requirements

a) Applicants must demonstrate Vietnamese proficiency sufficient for study and research in the program by meeting one of the following conditions:

  • Possession of a Vietnamese Language Certificate (Level 4 or higher) according to the Vietnamese Language Proficiency Framework for Foreigners, issued by an authorized institution within the last two years (see Appendix II); or
  • Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Vietnamese studies, or a degree from a program where Vietnamese is the primary language of instruction.

b) Applicants must be certified as physically fit for study and research by a competent medical authority.

c) Applicants must demonstrate sufficient financial resources to cover tuition, study, and living expenses in Vietnam during the entire study period.

d) Applicants must have a clear personal legal record, must not be under criminal prosecution, and must not violate the laws of Vietnam or the laws of the country where they reside.

Note: Degrees and academic transcripts issued by foreign educational institutions must be recognized by the Vietnam Education Quality Management Agency, Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam.

3. Application Timeline

  • Submission period: March 03, 2026 – April 30, 2026
  • Admission evaluation (expected): May 08, 2026
  • Announcement of admission results (expected): May 22, 2026
  • Enrollment date (expected): May 30, 2026

4. Application Fee and Tuition

  • Application evaluation fee: 2,100,000 VND per applicant
  • Application form: Free of charge
  • Scholarship policy: The University offers 05 full scholarships covering 100% of the tuition for the entire program for admitted students.

5. Application Documents

Applicants must submit the following documents:

  • A completed application form according to the prescribed template.
  • A notarized copy and Vietnamese translation of the Bachelor’s degree and academic transcript.
  • A medical certificate issued by a competent Vietnamese medical institution (within 6 months of the application date)
  • A copy of documents proving financial capability to support study, research, and living expenses in Vietnam during the study period.
  • A copy of a valid passport covering the entire period of study in Vietnam, or at least one year from the expected date of entry into Vietnam.
  • A notarized copy of a Vietnamese language certificate at Level 4 or higher according to the Vietnamese Language Proficiency Framework for Foreigners, recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam, or a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a program taught in Vietnamese.
