Share
As part of the strategic partnership between Thanh Do University and Unigo Primary & Secondary School through the Unigo Lab School model, students majoring in English Language and Education are gaining hands-on teaching experience and strengthening their professional skills in an authentic educational environment.
Learning the Profession Through Immersion
Instead of relying solely on classroom instruction, students observe real teaching practices, classroom management, and school operations while actively participating in educational activities. This practical exposure helps them better understand the teaching profession, the competencies required of modern educators, and the skills needed for long-term career development. It also enables students to clarify their career goals and strengthen their motivation to learn.

English Language and Education students gain firsthand teaching experience during their professional internship at Unigo Primary & Secondary School.
The Unigo Lab School model goes beyond providing an internship site. It adopts the Work-Integrated Learning and Living (WILL) approach, connecting academic knowledge with professional practice.
Students assist teachers with classroom instruction, educational activities, student support, and classroom management. Every task allows them to apply academic knowledge while developing pedagogical thinking, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Learning by doing gives students a deeper understanding of the profession, builds confidence, and gradually develops a professional working mindset.
Developing Professional Skills Before Graduation
During the Summer Camp program at Unigo Primary & Secondary School, students served as teaching assistants, supporting foreign language teachers in classroom activities, guiding pupils, preparing learning materials, providing language support, and assisting with other academic tasks.
These experiences enhance students' understanding of child psychology, classroom organization, and educational communication while strengthening teamwork, time management, adaptability, and practical problem-solving skills.
Working alongside experienced teachers also allows students to learn effective teaching methods and student-centered educational practices..

Expanding the Lab School Model
The Lab School model is a key component of Thanh Do University's application-oriented education strategy, bridging academic learning with professional practice.
Through partnerships with educational institutions, students gain early access to real working environments, accumulate professional experience, strengthen practical competencies, and build career readiness before graduation.
The University will continue expanding its Lab School network, creating more opportunities for experiential learning, closer collaboration with employers, and stronger graduate employability.
Beyond professional experience, internships help students develop essential 21st-century competencies, including critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity, problem-solving, digital literacy, and lifelong learning. More importantly, they gain a deeper appreciation of the teaching profession and graduate with the knowledge, confidence, and innovative mindset needed to succeed as future educators.
