Thanh Do University’s REK Institute has translated and disseminated key guidelines from the European Association of Science Editors to support responsible scholarly communication in Vietnam.

A team of collaborators and researchers from the Institution for Research on Education and Knowledge Transfer (REK Institute), Thanh Do University, has translated, edited, and shared several important guidelines from the European Association of Science Editors (EASE) as open-access resources through the OESR Library.

The initiative forms part of the Institute’s broader effort to promote responsible scholarly communication practices in Vietnam. At a time when academic publishing increasingly requires standardization, transparency, and integrity, practical guidance for authors, reviewers, editors, and researchers has become essential. By making these international resources available in Vietnamese, the REK Institute aims to support lecturers, researchers, postgraduate students, and early-career scholars in accessing widely recognized standards in academic writing and publishing.

EASE provides a rich collection of resources developed through its toolkits, professional communities, regional chapters, and trusted third-party sources. These materials serve the needs of authors, researchers, editors, reviewers, and publishers across different stages of the scholarly communication process.

In this release, the REK Institute team translated and shared three EASE documents:

The translation and dissemination of these materials are part of a broader effort by the REK Institute and Thanh Do University to promote Open Science, Open Education, and a culture of responsible academia in Vietnam. Providing these guidelines in Vietnamese makes it easier for lecturers, researchers, postgraduates, and students to access international standards in academic writing and publishing.

Previously, the REK Institute research team also translated and introduced publishing ethics guidelines from the Committee on Publication Ethics, aiming to contribute to building a more transparent, honest, and professional research environment within the Vietnamese academic community.
