Thanh Do University was established on May 27, 2009, on the basis of upgrading Thanh Do College of Technology – the first private institution in Vietnam to offer undergraduate program, established on November 30, 2004. The university’s educational philosophy centers on applied learning, encompassing a diverse range of fields:

Development history

  1. November 30th, 2004 - The establishment of THANH DO Private College of Technology - the first private school in the Vietnamese university educational system, the predecessor of THANH DO University today.

  2. Renaming THANH DO College of Technology, increasing in size, training and number of departments; finalizing the first project in Vietnam on upgrading from a college to a private university.

  3. Establishment of Thanh Do Driving Training Center - the only private university with a driving training center.

  4. May 27th, 2009 - The Prime Minister decided to establish THANH DO University on the basis of upgrading THANH DO College of Technology.

  5. Vietnam's first Eco-Driver and Fuel-Saving (EMC) Championship; representative of Vietnamese universities taking part in Tokyo, Japan.

  6. Expanding the scale of training, starting enrollment in new major codes: Pharmacy, Nursing - the first private university to train the Health major.

  7. Innovating teaching methods, applying a combined training model (blended learning). Promote scientific research and successfully organize an international scientific seminar on stem cell technology from umbilical cord membranes.

  8. Signing a partnership with 500 Korean enterprises (K-BIZ Association) and becoming one of the first universities to implement job commitment for students after graduation.

  9. Achieve “Application oriented 3-star” benchmark on the University Performance Metrics (UPM) Chart.

  10. Affirming its reputation as a university that meets the National Education Quality Accreditation standard.

Located at km15, Highway 32, Kim Chung, Hoai Duc, to the west of Hanoi, Thanh Do University owns an ideal location with green space and a spacious area of ​​over 10ha. The school has a youthful and modern design, including a complex: lecture hall, practice area, indoor and outdoor sports area, library, medicinal garden, ecological experience area, … creating a complex can harmoniously meet the learning needs and life experiences of students.
