On the morning of September 19, the K21 freshmen majoring in Pharmacy and Nursing attended a welcoming session with the faculty of the Institute of Medicine and Pharmacy, the academic unit overseeing health-related programs.

The meeting gathered the Institute’s leadership, faculty members, current students, and the new cohort of students. During the session, freshmen received detailed information about their majors, including the curriculum, year-by-year study roadmap, hands-on practice opportunities, career prospects, potential job positions after graduation, essential qualities for the field, academic and research methods at the university level, and strategies to adapt efficiently to the new learning environment.

This welcoming event also served as an opportunity for the school and Institute leaders and faculty to listen to students’ questions and concerns. Through open discussions and clarifications, the new Thadoers gained valuable insights into the academic plan, program structure, and upcoming activities, reinforcing the University’s commitment to supporting each student’s learning and development journey.

Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Linh, Deputy Head in charge of the Institute, introduced the organizational structure and academic activities of the Institute while providing a detailed overview of the Pharmacy and Nursing programs. She emphasized that the programs integrate modern scientific knowledge with clinical practice skills, aiming to cultivate professional competence, research thinking, responsibility, and career readiness. This is the pathway every Medicine and Pharmacy student at Thado will follow to contribute meaningfully to public health and healthcare careers.

The Institute of Medicine and Pharmacy (IMP), under Thanh Do University, is a core academic unit formed by transitioning from the former Faculty of Pharmacy into an Institute. This transformation is part of a comprehensive reform strategy to enhance autonomy and flexibility in academic management, research, technology transfer, and international cooperation, aligning with the trends of modern higher education and practical demands in healthcare.

Organized with an interdisciplinary approach, the Institute integrates Pharmacy, Nursing, Clinical Medicine, and Health Management. It brings together highly qualified faculty, experts, and researchers ready to accompany students throughout their learning, research, and professional development.

The Institute operates two key offices:

• Office of Academic and External Affairs (AEA): responsible for academic management, curriculum, quality assurance, academic support, admissions, communications, alumni relations, and external cooperation.
• Office of Technology, Innovation and Enterprise (TIE): responsible for research, technology transfer, innovation, entrepreneurship, and community services.
