The Fellowship supports PhD holders in conducting research with strong academic value and practical application, prioritizing fields such as digital transformation, artificial intelligence, educational innovation, and sustainable development. It encourages both fundamental and applied research, aiming to generate high-quality publications and impactful outcomes for society.

The signing ceremony marks not only a formal step in launching funded projects but also the University’s commitment and expectations for researchers to deliver meaningful academic and applied contributions.

Earlier in 2026, the University awarded the first four fellowships to outstanding projects selected by the Scientific Council. These interdisciplinary projects span natural sciences, technology, social sciences, and health, addressing real-world challenges and demonstrating strong societal impact.

Four inaugural awards of the Ngo Xuan Do Postdoctoral Fellowship were granted, continuing the legacy and dedication of the late Distinguished Teacher in advancing education and scientific research.

The selected projects demonstrate strong interdisciplinarity, practical relevance, and potential for broad social impact, spanning natural sciences, technology, social sciences, and health. Specifically:

  • Dr. Hoang Van Hiep (VNU School of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Arts): Pioneering research on applying cosmic-ray neutrons and machine learning in climate-resilient smart agriculture
  • Dr. Vu Thi Thanh Minh (Journal of Scientific Research and Development, Thanh Do University): Sustainable economic development for Khmer communities
  • Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Linh (Institute of Medicine and Pharmacy, Thanh Do University): Standardizing training materials through a Medicinal Chemistry textbook series
  • Dr. Pham Hung Hiep (Institution for Research on Education and Knowledge Transfer, Thanh Do University): Developing academic foundations through a scholarly book series on research methodology

With funding ranging from VND 70 to 257 million per project, the Fellowship expects high-quality outputs, including international publications (WoS/Scopus), technological products, and sustainable educational resources. Notably, research outcomes will contribute to the “Ngo Xuan Do Scientific Book Series,” supporting teaching and research activities.

More than a tribute, the Fellowship represents a strategic initiative to foster a sustainable research environment. Funded projects will be managed and monitored by the Institution for Research on Education and Knowledge Transfer throughout 2026 to ensure quality and progress.

The ceremony marks the beginning of new research journeys and reaffirms a key message: when nurtured effectively, knowledge becomes a powerful force for positive societal impact.
