From 2 to 4 June 2026, the European Association of Science Editors (EASE) will host the EASE Summer Symposium 2026 online under the theme “Influence & Impact.” This year’s symposium will explore how editorial teams shape standards, demonstrate quality, and assess the influence of scholarly publishing in a rapidly changing research landscape.

As part of the symposium, EASE Vietnam will take part in the 2026 Poster Exhibition and Competition under the category Community Engagement and Collaboration. This category provides a platform for scholarly communities, regional chapters, professional groups, and editorial associations to present their mission, activities, impact, and future directions. EASE Vietnam is featured as one of the regional chapters represented in the digital poster exhibition of the EASE Summer Symposium 2026.

The participation of EASE Vietnam is of particular significance to Thanh Do University, as three members of the University are actively involved in the chapter. They include Dr. Hiep-Hung Pham, Director of the Institution for Research on Education and Knowledge Transfer (REK Institute), who serves as Chair of EASE Vietnam; Ms. Nguyen Linh Chi, researcher at REK Institute, who serves as Secretary of the chapter; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Thanh Thao, President of Thanh Do University, who is also a member of EASE Vietnam.

The poster presented at the symposium introduces EASE Vietnam as a professional platform committed to advancing scholarly communication, scientific publishing, and open science in Vietnam. The chapter brings together researchers, lecturers, editors, and professionals from higher education institutions and research organizations across the country.

In recent years, EASE Vietnam has carried out a range of activities to support the Vietnamese academic community. These include translating and disseminating important international resources, including EASE materials and COPE guidance; organizing seminars, workshops, and training sessions on academic publishing; engaging in professional exchange with EASE Korea; and promoting open science practices among researchers. The poster also highlights recent activities on open educational resources and digital transformation in education, digital academic resources for Vietnamese higher education institutions, and learning design and teaching with artificial intelligence.

Thanh Do University’s connection with EASE Vietnam is reflected not only in the representative roles of its members, but also in its concrete contributions to the chapter’s professional activities. Researchers, lecturers, and collaborators from REK Institute have been actively involved in translating and disseminating EASE guidelines and COPE resources on publication ethics and responsible scholarly communication. At the same time, the University has invested in initiatives related to open educational publishing, including the Handbook of Open Sciences and Open Education, helping to promote responsible academic practices within the Vietnamese research community.

These efforts demonstrate Thanh Do University’s commitment to advancing open science, strengthening international publication capacity, and connecting Vietnamese higher education with global standards in scholarly communication.

EASE Vietnam’s presence at the EASE Summer Symposium 2026 reflects the growing engagement of Vietnamese scholars in international networks of scientific editing, academic publishing, and research integrity. With the active participation of members from Thanh Do University, the event also reinforces the University’s image as a dynamic higher education institution that is committed to international collaboration, open science, and the professional development of Vietnam’s academic community.
