On the morning of September 8, Thanh Do University proudly hosted the opening ceremony of the Vietnam – Laos Cultural Exchange 2025, themed “Friendship – Vietnam & Laos – Everlasting.” The event officially welcomed Lao international students to experience learning, exchange, and cultural bonding at TDD, serving as a vibrant bridge reinforcing the traditional friendship between the two neighboring nations.
At the ceremony, TDD staff and lecturers wore traditional Vietnamese ao dai, while Lao students shone in their national attire, together creating a colorful cultural tapestry. The event was honored by the presence of Mr. Nguyen Hong Ky, Deputy Head in charge of Student Affairs at Quang Tri Pedagogical College, who accompanied and supported the exchange program.

Associate Professor, PhD Dao Thi Ai Thi, Vice-Rector of Thanh Do University, remarked: “We are delighted to welcome Lao students to Thanh Do University. These 10 days of immersive experiences will not only deepen understanding of Vietnam’s culture, people, and traditions, but also provide opportunities for learning, cross-cultural exchange, and international friendship. We believe these experiences will become invaluable assets for students’ academic and professional journeys, while vividly exemplifying the enduring Vietnam - Laos friendship.”
Mr. Nguyen Hong Ky expressed sincere gratitude for TDD’s warm hospitality and meticulous arrangements. He emphasized that the program offers students meaningful experiences, nurtures friendships, and encourages them to become future cultural and educational bridges between Vietnam and Laos.

The emotional highlight of the event was the traditional dance performance “Lao - Vietnam Heart,” performed by Lao students. Each graceful movement and rhythm conveyed a message of solidarity and lasting friendship between the two nations, presenting a heartfelt cultural gift to TDD faculty and students.

Son, a representative of the Lao students, shared: “We are very happy to be warmly welcomed at Thanh Do. From day one, we felt the friendliness and warmth of the faculty and Vietnamese students. We look forward to the upcoming 10 days full of memories, learning more about Vietnamese culture, language, and history. These will be unforgettable experiences and a bond of friendship between our two countries.”

Following the opening ceremony, Lao students toured the TDD Heritage Room, preserving the university’s milestones, and explored the modern, green campus of the Thado Edupark educational ecosystem, experiencing a friendly, creative, and connected learning environment.

The students were also assigned dormitories and engaged in sports activities with TDD students. Friendly games and interactive activities marked the start of a 10-day journey promising rich cultural, historical, and educational experiences.
With radiant smiles and high spirits, Lao students quickly immersed themselves in TDD’s vibrant atmosphere. Early activities, including sports and interactive sessions, set the tone for a dynamic program ahead, filled with surprises and memorable experiences.
Thanh Do University hopes the students will enjoy a meaningful and unforgettable time, taking with them lasting memories of Vietnam’s people, culture, and friendships, strengthening the Vietnam – Laos bond for years to come.
