On the morning of September 20, students from the Information Technology program at Thanh Do University embarked on a company visit to LG Display Vietnam in Hai Phong.

Accompanying the students on this trip were Assoc. Prof. Dao Thi Ai Thi – Vice Rector in charge of academic affairs, Dr. Ngo Thi Anh Tuyet – Director of the International Training Center, along with faculty members responsible for the Chinese Studies program.

Experiencing a Modern, Global Workplace at LG Display

LG Display Vietnam is a subsidiary of South Korea’s LG Display Group, employs over 20,000 people, and represents a total investment of USD 5.65 billion, making it one of the largest FDI enterprises in Hai Phong. The company specializes in producing and developing high-tech displays such as OLED and LCD panels for global electronics corporations.

With its modern scale and advanced operations, LG Display provides an ideal working environment for technology students. Career opportunities in the company span multiple roles, including R&D engineers, process engineers, maintenance engineers, quality control engineers, production technicians, environmental safety engineers, and positions related to information systems and data management in production oversight.

During the visit, IT students had the chance to directly observe the company’s scale, workspace, high-tech production lines, human resource management systems, infrastructure, and operational procedures. This hands-on experience gave students a clear understanding of how a global company functions, from workforce management and process oversight to adherence to international quality standards.

Thanh Do University’s IT program offers two specialized tracks: Data Science & Artificial Intelligence and Information Systems, aiming to prepare high-quality tech talent aligned with current industry trends. The visit provided students with practical insights into how data and IT systems operate in a modern production environment. Students observed the implementation of data management, ERP, MES, and other advanced technologies used in production monitoring, deepening their understanding of the role of Big Data and AI in optimizing processes, predicting errors, and enhancing efficiency. This experience lays a strong foundation for future career paths in roles such as Data Analyst, Data Engineer, AI Engineer, or Information Systems Administrator.
