Thanh Do University is among the leading private universities in the ASEAN region and in the top group of Vietnamese private universities on the ASEAN 2027 ranking by AppliedEdu.

The Public & Private University Ranking: ASEAN 2027, published by AppliedEdu, has officially announced the rankings of 161 public and 155 private universities from ASEAN countries. Amid increasingly intense competition among private universities, Thanh Do University ranked 43rd out of the 155 participating private universities and 4th among the 7 Vietnamese private universities on this year's list.

AppliedEdu is a Singapore-based assessment organization that began developing university rankings in 2021 with the goal of building an independent, objective benchmark for students, parents and education administrators. The entire ranking process and its quality control are overseen by the AppliedEdu Ranking Advisory Board, currently chaired by Prof. Dr. Maurits van Rooijen, Chief Academic Officer of Global University Systems and Rector of the University of Europe for Applied Sciences, Germany. This is the fourth edition of the ranking, which continues to grow from the previous edition, with the 2026 edition recording 161 public and 155 private universities. This growth reflects universities' rising interest in the independent and transparent evaluation system run by AppliedEdu.

AppliedEdu's rankings draw on data provided by universities, student surveys, surveys of participating institutions, publication data from Google Scholar and other relevant information. Private universities are assessed in key areas: Teaching and Learning, Employability, Research, Community Engagement, Internationalization and Institutional Reputation. These are all key factors reflecting the quality of applied training, students' career readiness and the institution's influence in the educational and social ecosystem.

Thanh Do University ranks 43rd among the top private universities in ASEAN 2027 (AppliedEdu).

By ranking public and private universities separately and focusing on practical outcomes rather than traditional indicators alone, the ranking offers a more comprehensive and fair picture of institutional performance as higher education rapidly diversifies. It helps universities define their position not only on the ranking but also in relation to learners' real needs and the requirements of the regional labour market.

On AppliedEdu's ASEAN private university ranking, the University has moved from 35th of 80 in 2024 and 44th of 122 in 2026 to 43rd of 155 in 2027. As the ranking grows in scale, Thanh Do has not only maintained its presence but also raised its relative position from the top 44% to the top 28%, reflecting persistent efforts in innovation, improvement and development.
