Thanh Do University is ranked among the top application-oriented universities in ASEAN (ASEAN 2024: AppliedHE). The university meets national education quality standards and has received a three-star rating for application-oriented training quality in the ASEAN university rankings (UPM). We are pleased to announce the first round of 2025 admissions for full-time university programs and distance learning for Lao international students as follows:
1. Admission Criteria
Applicants must be citizens of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and meet the requirements outlined in Circular No. 30/2018/TT-BGDĐT, issued on December 24, 2018, by the Ministry of Education and Training on the management of foreign students studying in Vietnam.
2. Admission Requirements
- Academic Requirements: Applicants must have graduated from high school or an equivalent level and have a Grade 12 GPA (equivalent to Grade 7 in the Lao PDR education system) of 6.0 or higher.
- Health Requirements: Applicants must be physically fit for study, certified by a competent medical authority in Vietnam.
- Language Requirements: Applicants must have a Vietnamese language proficiency of B2 level (Level 4/6) or higher, as defined by the Vietnamese Language Proficiency Framework in Circular No. 17/2015/TT-BGDĐT, issued on September 1, 2015, by the Ministry of Education and Training.
- Age Requirements: No age restrictions apply.
3. Admission Method: Based on evaluation of applications.

6. Study Plan
6.1. Full-Time Undergraduate Program
- The training program follows an application-oriented approach, including one paid internship semester at domestic or international enterprises.
- Total study duration: 3.5 to 4 years.
6.2. Distance Learning Program
- High School Graduates: 4 years
- Graduates of Vocational or Professional Secondary Schools: 2.5 – 3 years
- College Graduates or Higher: 1.5 years
- Learning Method: Distance learning via computer networks and telecommunications.
- Degree: Equivalent in value to a full-time university degree.
- Final Exam Locations (Students may choose one of the following):
- Northern Region: Thanh Do University, Km 15, National Highway 32, Kim Chung, Hoai Duc, Hanoi
- Southern Region: 4A-6 Ngo Quyen, Tan Thanh, Tan Phu District, Ho Chi Minh City
7. Fees, Tuition, and Scholarship Programs
7.1. Full-Time Undergraduate Program
- Application and Evaluation Fee: 100,000 VND
- Tuition Fees:
- Information Technology: 1,600,000 VND per credit
- Chinese Language: 1,800,000 VND per credit
- Scholarship Program: The university offers 2 scholarships covering 100% tuition fees and free dormitory accommodation, and 50 scholarships covering 50% tuition fees and free dormitory accommodation for Lao international students.
7.2. Distance Learning Program
- Application Fee: 600,000 VND
- Tuition Fee: 370,000 VND per credit (applies to all programs)

8. Application Documents Include:
- Application Form: For foreign students studying in Vietnam, following the template provided by Thanh Do University.
- Certified Copy of Passport: Valid for at least 6 more months.
- Certified Copy of Graduation Certificate: High School Diploma (or provisional graduation certificate), or Vocational, College, University Degree.
- Certified Copy of Academic Transcript: High School transcript or transcript from Vocational, College, or University.
- Certified Copy of Personal Background Record: Verified by a competent authority (translated and notarized).
- Certified Copy of Vietnamese Language Proficiency Certificate.
- Certified and Translated Copy of Birth Certificate.
- Health Certificate: Issued by a competent medical authority in Vietnam, valid for no more than 6 months.
Note: Diplomas and transcripts issued by foreign educational institutions must be recognized:
- High School Diplomas by the Department of Education and Training.
- Bachelor’s Degrees and equivalent qualifications by the Quality Assurance Department, Ministry of Education and Training.
