INTRODUCTION OF THE NGO XUAN DO POSTDOC FELLOWSHIP FOUNDATION AT THANH DO UNIVERSITY

On the morning of August 29, Thanh Do University proudly held an event to introduce the Ngo Xuan Do Postdoc Fellowship Foundation, designed for all faculty members, lecturers, and doctoral researchers of the University. The event was led by Dr. Pham Hung Hiep, Director of the Institute for Research on Education and Knowledge Transfer, the unit authorized to manage the Foundation, and attended by a large number of the University’s teaching staff.

Dr. Pham Hung Hiep, Director of the Institute for Research on Education and Knowledge Transfer, representing the Foundation’s Management Board, presented an overview of the Ngo Xuan Do Postdoc Fellowship Foundation.

Prior to the event, the Foundation’s official portal at https://ngoxuando-fellowship.thanhdo.edu.vn/ was launched, receiving a number of applications and inquiries from scientists both within and outside the University. To provide a clearer understanding of the Foundation’s vision, objectives and to broadly promote it among all faculty members, Dr. Pham Hung Hiep, representing the Foundation’s Management Board, presented comprehensive information covering the eligible candidates and supported research topics, the application, review, and evaluation processes, as well as requirements for research outputs and intellectual property regulations.

Dr. Pham Hung Hiep particularly highlighted several distinctive features that set the Foundation apart from other domestic research funding programs. First, the Foundation strongly encourages open science and education by giving priority to candidates who support this model, covering open-access publication fees (APC), and maintaining a website to archive scientific outputs. Second, the Foundation promotes collaboration by funding research teams rather than individual scientists. In addition, the Foundation provides comprehensive support for both fundamental and applied research. Finally, the Foundation implements a year-round application process, with review and evaluation committees convening quarterly, offering maximum flexibility for researchers.

Introducing the Ngo Xuan Do Postdoc Fellowship Foundation to University Faculty

During the discussion session, Dr. Vu Quoc Manh (Institute of Medicine and Pharmacy) inquired about the level of funding available for research projects requiring substantial equipment and materials. Meanwhile, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Linh (Institute of Medicine and Pharmacy) expressed interest in the expected research outputs of the Fellowship. Speaking at the introduction session, Dr. Nguyen Thuy Van – Executive Vice Rector and Chair of the Foundation’s Scientific Council – highlighted several ongoing projects at the University and encouraged research teams and faculty members to submit applications.

These exchanges reflected the strong anticipation and enthusiasm of the University’s academic community toward the Foundation.
