Thanh Do University’s Journal of Scientific Research and Development Earns Recognition Across 7 Disciplinary Councils in Just Under Three Years.
In less than three years since its launch, the Journal of Scientific Research and Development (JSRD) – Thanh Do University has achieved remarkable recognition, being accredited by 7 national and interdisciplinary professorial councils and covering 13 scientific disciplines, with a formal score increase of 0.5 points for scientific articles.
This achievement underscores JSRD’s rapid growth and its rising influence in Vietnam’s scientific research landscape.
“The Journal of Scientific Research and Development (JSRD) is the official academic publication of Thanh Do University, dedicated to promoting scientific research and the application of science and technology. Licensed by the Ministry of Information and Communications under permit number 430/GP-BTTTT on August 24, 2022, the journal carries the international standard identifier ISSN 2815-570X.”
Since its inaugural issue in September 2022, JSRD has published 11 issues, presenting numerous high-quality research studies with strong academic value and practical applicability. The journal’s articles have attracted around 40,000 visits from readers in over 100 countries and territories, demonstrating its broad international reach.
In 2023, JSRD was first accredited by the State Professorial Council for History – Archaeology – Ethnology/Anthropology. To date, the journal has been recognized by 7 national and interdisciplinary professorial councils, covering 13 scientific disciplines, affirming its scholarly credibility, rigorous peer review, and contributions to the research community. In a short span, JSRD has rapidly established itself as a leading academic journal compared to other educational institutions in Vietnam.
This rapid growth reflects a strategic development approach, the relentless dedication of the Editorial Board, and close guidance from the University Leadership, particularly Assoc. Prof. Phan Thi Thanh Thao, President of Thanh Do University and Chair of the Editorial Board.
Since its inception, the Journal of Scientific Research and Development (JSRD) has been oriented as a multidisciplinary academic journal, closely aligned with the university’s academic programs. Its mission extends beyond serving the research and educational needs of its parent institution, aiming to bring cutting-edge scientific studies and academic knowledge from both Vietnam and the world to a broad readership.
These achievements demonstrate the journal’s commitment to publishing high-quality content and provide strong evidence of its ongoing development and self-improvement. JSRD is steadily enhancing its capacity to meet the demands of international integration and aspires to achieve recognition in ACI and Scopus listings in the near future.
Such accomplishments are awe-inspiring for a relatively young journal. In fact, JSRD represents a rare case among newly established science and technology journals in Vietnam, having been awarded a 0.5-point accreditation by the State Professorial Council for scientific publications within a very short period.
The growth of JSRD provides a solid foundation for research activities at Thanh Do University, significantly supporting and promoting the scientific work of the university’s faculty and staff.
Looking ahead, the Journal of Scientific Research and Development will focus on expanding and enhancing its academic activities. Specifically, the journal aims to increase the number of State Professorial Councils (both disciplinary and interdisciplinary) that recognize its scientific publications. It will continue efforts to raise scores for articles in already recognized councils and seek recognition for publications in councils that have not yet awarded points for relevant fields.
In parallel, the journal seeks to expand its network of international collaborators and promote bilingual research publications to enhance global integration and knowledge dissemination. Notably, the establishment and official operation of the electronic journal, combined with an open-access policy, is identified as a strategic step to encourage the broad, equitable, and transparent sharing of research results.
